Empowering You to Achieve Happiness

Our Story

Auxiliary Autism Programs & Services was founded in 2021 by Melanie D White.  "Ms. Melanie" created a program for families who were looking for an option to ABA.  She developed the Poly-Aggregated Intervention (PAI) concept, which means we use many strategies together, collect the data to establish the best method to reach the targeted goal. We focus on: ACADEMICS, BEHAVIOR, COGNITION, COMMUNICATION, LIFE SKILLS and SOCIAL SKILLS by implementing various strategies & concepts, such as Relationship Development Interventions (RDI), Music-Mediated Intervention (MMI), Floor Time, Play Therapy and as well as some Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) ideologies.

Ms. Melanie also understands how crucial it is that non-verbal children have a 'voice', so American Sign Language (ASL) is taught-which has also shown to reduce adverse behaviors in some children...

...and for children with food (eating) challenges, Food Exploration is also introduced to help children explore textures, smells, and taste of various foods.

Ms. Melanie based her program model to teacher Ann Sullivan (Miracle Worker), who implemented individualized instruction, exploration and experiential learning, critical thinking & concept comprehension, along with patience & perseverance.

Our Philosophy

The AU Program's philosophy is a common sense, back to basics belief that if you focus on the individual child's needs, interest, abilities and natural talents, they are more likely to learn because strategies are devised based on 'how' the child learns and 'what motivates' the child to learn- with an individual action plan (IAP) that's created to guide their learning, with an emphasis on strengthening cognition for critical & independent thinking.

Our Concept

Our concept includes a range of strategies implemented to reduce behavioral issues, improve coping skills, strengthen cognition, communication, social, life and academics skills.

Our Goals

Our goal is to provide more opportunities and options for children with learning & developmental differences be able to self-advocate, have autonomy and be as independent as they can be...while giving their families peace of mind.

Our Staff

All new hires have criminal background checks conducted before they are hired. They are provided extensive training, ongoing professional development, CPR and Food Handler's certification. They are also required to be certified in at least two vocational skills (ASL, RBT, Floor Time etc.) in their first year of employment.  We also encourage our staff to maintain self-care, to ensure they can continue providing quality care for your loved one(s).
